Dermapen

Our skin is wonderfully resilient to healing itself, however ageing, sun damage or injury can lead to wrinkles, pigmentation and scarring.  Not only are these skin complaints unwelcome they can also have an  unfortunate impact on your self confidence.

The revolutionary Dermapen treatment stimulates your body’s ntural skin healing properties to reduce the appearance of common skin complaints and blemishes

Derma Pen is the world’s most advanced micro-needling system that uses very fine needles to stimulate natural skin-healing proteins, treating a variety of skin problems.

At TMC  we use Dermapen 3 (medical version), which is extremely safe and highly effective at treating even the parts of your skin that are delicate or harder to get to, such as around the eyes.

Tightens, lifts and rejuvenates the skin

Reduces acne and surgical scarring

Improves wrinkles and fine lines

Minimisespore size

Improves stretch marks

Dermapen works by using tiny needles to pierce the skin, causing microscopic injuries. This stimulates your body’s own natural production of collagen and elastin, the proteins that repair your skin and keep it supple. This effectively harnesses the body’s own healing system to bring about improvements in your skin, giving it a better tone and texture as well as reducing the appearance of ageing, scarring and other skin complaints.

Dermapen can be used to treat a wide range of skin issues, including tackling signs of ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles. It is a highly effective treatment for reducing the appearance of scarring from acne, surgery and trauma, as well as diminishing the appearance of hyperpigmentation and helping to heal sun damage.

How is Dermapen treatment performed

After consultation and discussion of your desired treatment area, the aesthetician will move the Dermapen device across your skin.    The Dermapen has 12 tiny sterile verticle needles that rapidly pulsate, gliding over your skin, these needles penetrate into the skin at different levels depending on the part of the face, depth of the scar or the condition being treated.

This causes micro injury to the skin which in turn causes healing.  The healing releases new collagen and elastin and growth factor, which cause the remodeling and breaking down of old collagen and scar tissue.   You’ll hardly notice the the shallow peircing.  The length of the session depends on the size of the area you’re having treated, however on average a treatment takes 45 minutes.  There is no downtime and you can return to your normal activities immediately.

What results can I expect?

Dermapen shows similar results to laser and other resurfacing procedures at significantly lower cost and with much less downtime.  You will notice instant results after the procedure with a continued improved over the weeks to follow.  The micro-needles painlessly puncture the skin down to the dermis, stimulating the skin’s fibroblasts which lay down collagen – increasing the skin’s elasticity and in turn tightening, lifting and rejuvenating the skin.

Does it hurt

Dermapen treatment causes minimal discomfort, depending on the depth of the needle penetration.  Shallow treatments have little to no discomfort, whereas deeper penetration may require the application of an anaesthetic numbing cream before the treatment.  Post treatment you may notice some redness on the treated area for 12-48 hours, your skin may also feel a little tight, warm and sore, however this will fade in a few hours.

Post treatment

After treatment, the microscopic needle points in your skin close with the hour.  Your skin then initiates a repair and stimulation process that goes on over many weeks, resulting in improved skin texture and fewer fine lines and wrinkles.  The Dermapen’s outstanding results are backed up my many clinical studies.
