Dr. Rafal Dworakowski MD, PhD (Hons)

Consultant Cardiologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Cardiology

 

Rafal Dworakowski graduated from the Medical University of Gdansk in Poland in 1998. After completing his undergraduate training, he undertook specialist training in general cardiology at the Medical University Cardiology.

 

In 2006, he started working at King’s College Hospital in London where he completed his subspeciality training in echocardiography, coronary and structural intervention. In 2013, he became a consultant cardiologist and also the quality and governance lead for the cardiovascular division.

 

He is also a honorary senior lecturer at Kings College London. Rafal speaks three languages – English, Polish and German and he works in all aspects of general adult cardiology, particularly with people with valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease and acute and chronic heart failure.

  • chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations and other symptoms suspected of cardiac origin

  • advice regarding cardiovascular risk

  • advice after heart attacks

  • primary and secondary prevention

  • assessment and advice valvular heart disease

  • interventional cardiology – heart catheterization, coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty, stenting

  • echocardiography – transthoracic echocardiography, transoesophagal echocardiography

  • ECG

  • Pharmacological treatment of angina, palpitations, heart failure
